Learn Spanish 101

Learn Spanish Easily

So...you've decided you want to learn Spanish...

If it's really an important part of your future plans, then welcome to my new blog which explains how to easily and quickly get on track. Hopefully, the research information included will help you avoid the numerous pitfalls you may encounter in your quest to learn Spanish (or any other new skill!)

The ‘birth’ of this blog is dedicated to my great friends Matt & Sarah who thanks to the problems they experienced while learning Spanish, I had no other option but to put the word out there. Hopefully, my advice will ensure you don’t fall into the same trap.

Their problems really began almost a year ago when at a week-end barbecue; they announced to everyone they were leaving us for the sunny shores of Spain. A deadline of July 2008 was mentioned and an in-depth discussion developed regarding their brand new business venture. It sounded fantastic.

Later that day, the question of learning Spanish popped up. Matt assured me he had it covered. He and Sarah would learn Spanish in a matter of months. No problem. Now… Matt is a fairly well tuned in kind of guy and usually achieves what he sets out to do with very few problems. Sarah too is also no slouch when it comes to seeing a project through to completion so I honestly believed they would stroll through the whole learning process.

Anyway, everything seemed to be going well with these guys up until a couple of months ago. Matt and I were on a fishing trip when he confessed things were going really well apart from how difficult they both found it to learn the Spanish language. Not only that, both his and Sarah’s parents were also having a hard time of it. Why? Well, they had all attempted to learn Spanish by buying a truck load of cheap books and online training courses over the internet as they felt this was the quickest way to go. I’m afraid this is a classic example of why buying cheap can work out to be really expensive in the long run.

As I have a training background, we both got our heads into some serious research to discover what is actually available out there. Not only did we check out almost every course available, we also looked for the easiest learning format to use.We were surprised to find that many of the learn Spanish forums seemed to be filled with some extremely unhappy people. Some of what we discovered was absolutely shocking but eventually we managed to uncover a true diamond in the rough.

The following is what we found…

Okay, perhaps you too have attempted to learn this beautiful, romantic language in the past but lost interest due to extremely poor course material and simply gave up. If so, don’t give yourself a hard time over it as thousands of others have experienced exactly the same problem. Why? Well, in my experience, there is no such thing as a bad student – only a bad teacher with bad tuition techniques.

On the other hand you may have only just recently decided to learn Spanish but are unsure of which type of course to choose…

Either way, your about to discover how anyone can achieve an exceptional level of fluency in Spanish in a matter of a few short weeks. Our extensive research has revealed that it really is possible to learn Spanish quite easily in double quick time, stress free, while having a great time doing it.

You know, it may surprise you but learning a new language isn’t nearly as difficult as some people may think. Just like any other new subject, to learn
Spanish you must simply relax, focus, and really enjoy your learning. All it takes is the right attitude, confidence, enthusiasm and of course an excellent, user friendly system which you can access virtually anytime and anywhere you choose to study.

During my time as a Training & Development Manager, this approach has assisted team members in gaining way above average exam results. The true secret to a successful learning experience is that it shouldn’t be tedious and looked upon as an unpleasant task which you must endure until completion. When I've assisted adults with learning difficulties, I've often noted how highly effective this relaxed, easy approach boosts their confidence and progress.

So… to learn Spanish, which type of course should you choose?

Well unfortunately, it seems not all Spanish learning courses are born equal. Some are over-priced and under perform. Others seem quite cheap but can’t even come close to delivering the level of fluency which you would require for everyday life. Plus, apart from the cost factor, another important point to consider is the choice of learning format.

Which one best suits your pocket and lifestyle?

To help you, here’s just a few of the best ways to learn Spanish

Learn Spanish Option 1.

Book sessions with a qualified Spanish tutor. Obviously, this can be quite expensive but nice if you can afford it! Tuition like this is can work wonders for some people but attending sessions at set times and the homework involved can play havoc with your social life. With only one session per week, it would probably take quite a while to attain fluency. When you add travel expenses to the tuition costs, these one-on-one sessions are not cheap.

Learn Spanish Option 2.

Join Spanish Class. This option is great for some people as you’re given the opportunity to interact with other students who possess a similar level of knowledge to yourself. The downside of these classes is you will probably have to learn at the pace of the slowest learner. This is only fair as the tutor has to ensure everyone receives the same benefit from his/her class. Another point to consider is if you miss a couple of classes, you may find it difficult to catch up with the other students when you next attend.

Learn Spanish Option 3.

How about a study holiday abroad? What better way to learn Spanish than to spend 6-12months in Spain? I think this is the method that most people would choose if it was possible for them to do so. The high cost puts many people off. It can cost thousands, and not everyone has that kind of cash to throw into language tuition.

Learn Spanish Option 4.

A home study MP3/CD course. This is by far the most cost effective and versatile way to fast track your fluency in Spanish. The portable digital format means you can access your learning anywhere and at any time it suits you. I’ve found that nothing can even come close to the multiple benefits of this technology. Some of these courses are absolutely packed with content and features which will take you from novice to advanced speaker in practically no time at all. Many contain the vocal talents of genuine Spanish speakers which enable you to perfectly mimic the accent and pronunciation from the best sources possible.

So how are Matt and Sarah getting on?

Well, during our weeks of research, we eventually found them an excellent Spanish course which suits them perfectly and it’s totally eliminated the problems they were experiencing before. This new course has worked wonders for them and they’re so confident with the Spanish language now, they’ve decided to bring their move forward from July to March!

You may be just window shopping at the moment but if you seriously need to learn Spanish as much as they did, you may want to take a quick look at what Mauricio Evlampieff has to offer. This guy really does over deliver in every department. I advised Matt and Sarah to try the free lessons before buying and because of the special deal Mauricio is offering at the moment, they saved a load of cash by simply downloading the MP3 course files. After that, all they did was load the MP3 files onto their laptops and ipods and burned two sets of CD discs for their cars. Simple...
